2013 Food Drive***All information on this page is from a past event. There are no current plans to repeat this event.***
On Thursday, May 2nd, 2013 members of our Ruritan Club went to a few subdivisions within the Smiths Station community and left grocery bags on front door steps. Each bag had the letter below attached. On Saturday, May 4th, 2013 we went back to the houses to collect donated food. We are so proud of and thankful to our community for helping us donate over 80 bags of food to a local food bank. Thank you to everyone that participated! Click Here See More Photos From This Event |

About Your Ruritan Club
Ruritan is a national community service organization. Your Smiths Station Ruritan Club was founded in 1952,and it has served the community for over 60 years. Presently, the club provides text book scholarships to local students. In past years, the club has given Christmas gifts to needy Smiths Station children and senior citizens. Don't forget, the club makes its hall available to be rented for special events (2 blocks west of city hall). If you are interested in learning more about the Ruritan, join us for an upcoming meeting (Eastern Times). We are located at 2000 Lee Rd. 430.
Upcoming Meetings
Your Smiths Station Ruritan Club needs your help. We are collecting food to donate to our local food pantry which serves the neediest within our community. Want to participate? It is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
- Put your non-perishable food donation in the attached bag
- Place the filled bag on your doorstep on Friday evening May 3rd.
- We will pick-up your donation between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon on Saturday (Eastern Time).

- Boxed Macaroni and Cheese
- Instant Mashed Potatoes
- Peanut Butter and Jelly
- Canned Vegetables
- Any other non-perishable foods
