Meetings
Ruritan Clubs hold informative and educational monthly meetings that give Ruritan members an opportunity to share ideas about community improvements and service projects. Club meetings feature a fellowship meal, a club business session, and an educational or entertaining program for club members.
Our Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM EST, at the Ruritan Community Center at 2000 Lee Road 430 in Smiths Station, Alabama. (see map) All active members are encouraged to attend every meeting. However, if a meeting is missed, you can "make-up" that meeting either by contributing four (4) hours of community service, by attending a Board Meeting which convenes on the 1st Thursday of each month at 5:00 PM EST, or you can attend another local Ruritan Club meeting. If you do have a make-up, you need to notify the Club Secretary if you wish to receive credit. This will enable you to maintain a record of perfect attendance.
The custom of Smiths Station Ruritan is to have a pot-luck dinner each month unless otherwise specified. Each member is asked to bring a covered dish, i.e. meat, veggie, salad or dessert to share at the meeting. The club will furnish the beverage.

Dues
Dues for the membership are $10.00 per month and members are encouraged to pay by the quarter ($30), semi-annually ($60), or annually ($120) directly to the treasurer.
